The Hand Held Project

Earth House Studio

Sherri Gamble, founder of The Hand Held Project, is a Seattle based plaster artist. She has been creating decorative plaster surfaces in schools, homes, and businesses professionally since 2006.

A plaster artisan by trade, she creates decorative plaster finishes for design projects both in the public and private spheres. The ability to

develop a narrative through her artistry is what ignites and excels her work. It is her love of plaster that

extends this medium into both ethereal surfaces and monuments of form.

Her passion for teaching also ignites curiosity in others through community art. For her, casting is a way to preserve moments and elevate social justice.

In 2017, Sherri had the opportunity to facilitate a series of community art projects between the 5th District Chicago Police Department, youth and citizens. This work launched a series of pop-up art workshops at Pullman Elementary in 2017, Poe Classical School in 2018, Wendell Smith Elementary in 2019.

Sherri was honored to bring The Hand-Held Project to her hometown community where she has worked with Redmond and Duvall WA Police Departments and citizens in her pop-up art workshops at locations in local high schools, police stations, and arts festivals.

She is also a 2018 graduate of Redmond Public Safety Citizens Police Academy.

The Hand Held Project would not be possible without many hands and hearts.

Thank you to all who engage and support

“Plaster is the grit through which veneers and connections are brought to light. It offers a channel to unify and radically celebrate the simple act of being human. “
